Send your horse-crazy kid to Grand Farms for our fabulous summer day camp, June 24-28, 9 am to 3 pm, at beautiful Grand Farms in Vaughn. Campers will have a full equestrian experience, including daily riding and horse care lessons, horse-themed games, and plenty of horsey fun! The day camp is fully supervised with a team of instructors and assistants.



What Does Camp Include?
Each day, campers will have at least one mounted lesson, one horse care lesson, and one horse-related fun activity.Campers will have pony care and riding workbook and can earn badges over the week to demonstrate everything they’ve learned!
A sample day:
9-9:30 – warm up exercises and plan for the day, hand out badge workbooks.
9:30-11:00 – mounted lesson (flat or jumping, depending on camper’s ability and experience), includes instruction on tacking up and colling down ponies.
11-12:30 – Horsey games: scavenger hunt, hobby horse eventing, mock fox hunt, horsey jeopardy, and more.
12:30-1:15 – Lunch
1:15- 2:45 – unmounted lesson (such as grooming, pony care, basic pony first aid, saddles and bridles, etc)
2:45-3:00 – wrap up and hand in badge workbooks.
On the last day, we finish with a celebration party and award the badges the campers have earned over the week – we encourage parents/guardians to attend!



FAQs:
Is this camp for any ability? What if my child has no experience of horses at all?
This camp is designed for complete beginners as well as children with some basic experience with horses. We will group campers and assign instructors according to campers’ abilities an experience.
Is food provided?
No, please send your camper with a pack lunch, water and snacks. We do have a refrigerator and a microwave availabe to stor and prepare lunches.
Do we need a pony?
No, Grand Farms provides experienced ponies and horses for campers. However if you do have a pony, paddock board is available for the week for $100. Please provide a negative Coggins and bring your own hay and grain.
What are the badges?
We use the United States Pony Club ‘Badge Program’ for our camp curriculum. Campers will get a workbook to record theor progress and earn badges along the way (similar to Scout badges).
What if we have to cancel?
Refunds (less a $150 deposit) are available only if we can fill your place.
